Bella Passing

I am sorry to say that when I went into the coop to feed the hens today, I found Bella had passed away.  She appeared fine yesterday, so I can only hope and assume that she went quickly. She was my favorite chicken to draw, because I liked her spotted feathers. Like most of her kind, she was very friendly and a good layer.

The other hens are in good health and with the exception of Esmerelda, have completed their early-summer molting.

  1. That makes me so sad. She was pretty as a drawn chicken. I was horrified when I found a murdered chicken, murdered by a raccoon. I am so sorry for you and the rest of the chickens.

  2. Malcolm says:

I’m sorry you lost one of your chickens. Be good to the others and to yourself.
